The effort was a success in the long term, but resulted with persecution in England during the 15th century. In 1501 King Arthur rose the throne of England and married Catherine of Aragon (Lambert). When Arthur died in 1502, his brother Henry became king and married his wife Catherine with special permission from the Pope (Lambert). However, the marriage did not go as planned when Catherine had four miscarriages and their only son died at seven weeks (Lambert). After Henry failed to have a male heir with Catherine, he began to think that God was punishing for marrying his brothers wife (Lambert).   Since Catherine was opposed to divorcing Henry, he pursued the help of the Pope (Lambert). After promising to allow Mary to keep control over England and to keep England in English hands, Parliament approved of the marriage (Mary I). Up to this point Mary had been peaceful and had only made policy changes, but this was about to change (Mary I). In 1555 Mary revived the English heresy charges and began to persecute the offenders (Mary I). This marked the beginning of the persecutions against Protestants. Time during his campaign, and up to his presidency, has become a heightened scrutiny for undocumented immigrants; perhaps, mainly Hispanics. Hockenberry and Puzzanchera (2016) define them as â€Å"a person of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin regardless of race† (p3). I identify myself as a Hispanic because I was raised in Honduras, the heart of Central America, and I understand the climax that immigrants from these countries attempt to flee from. In the results of the analysis done by Hockenberry and Puzzanchera (2016), the RRI portrayed significance difference amongst the three ethnic groups. This comparison of the RRI is done through a simple formula: the number of an ethnic group is divided by the number of another ethnic group, considering the same entry point in the system. For example, the number court referrals done to Hispanic youth were compared between those done to white youth and black youth. As a result, researchers noticed that Hispanic youth were more likely than white, but less likely than black youth, to be referred to juvenile court. Additionally, across offense categories, Hispanic youth were more likely than white youth or black youth to be adjudicated delinquent (p 10 – 11). Thus, the focus of my paper is not how to reduce delinquency amongst Hispanic youth, rather, it is how to reduce Disproportionate Minority Confinement (DMC). In another view, Timothy Egan wants to invite readers to imagine from George Vancouver’s perspective who discovered and marked Puget Sound onto the map. He started his travel heading up the Pacific Coast and then to the south to an inland sea and an enormous volcano which is named Rainier. Before Puget Sound was discovered, Vancouver always thought that wild land was evil land, bad before it was civilized but Vancouver belief had changed by the time he found the garden of Puget Sound. Sealth had done so much to develop the city and it was named after Sealth as a reward and eventually the name had changed to the city of Seattle as we known today. Timothy Egan does a really great job when he is trying to make readers imagine the city of Seattle is based on the landscape of Seattle and the perspective of George Vancouver. He starts with a condition of the early generation that they mostly travel by kayak and the consistent changes of Seattle’s landscapes and then he ends up writing about a humorist Fran Lebowitz who said â€Å"why are they tearing it down† which shows his disappointment to people who harm the landscape by building new skyscrapers and deforesting the forest of the city. Otherwise, Seattle would be a really â€Å"cute† city. He also wants readers to have George Vancouver’s feeling about the city and he has done a pretty good job by providing strong supporting sentences in which written â€Å"to Vancouver and other British explorers, wild land was evil land, bad until proven civilized. That attitude changed when he came upon the garden of Puget Sound.† It makes the passage sounds more convincing the terrain is really fertile and wonderful. As it is not only Vancouver that agrees the terrain is fantastic but also the British explorers.
